I, ME, MINE - Press Rights

Hopes Fears and Dreams/ People - Press Rights

I'm going to be looking at for this project ultimately how the press invades people's lives and how they exploit them for a story. And I will be focusing in on if the press practices are right or wrong.

A recent example of this is the Leveson Enquiry. Was a public enquiry into the practices of the British press. And also looked at the News International phone hacking scandal. which they found guilty of there employees were engaging in phone hacking, police bribery, and exercising improper influence of the pursuit of stories.

The newspaper was found to have hacked several phones to try and get stories to sell in there newspapers. The most controversial people hacked were Maria Miller parents and Sara Payne, also people such as Gordon Brown (former Prime Minister) and Steve Coogan (actor) there private information was hacked by the News of the World. All of the allegations were denied by the Newspaper, but they were found guilty and the directors were blamed and sentenced, including people like Andy Coulson and Rebecca Brooks. And subsequently the Newspaper shut down.

I believe that it is ethically wrong,  but the laws on the British Press has changed because of this enquiry. But I am looking at why it is wrong to do this to people's lives on this page. Please comment below on what you think about this.
